Getting started with GeoRec

When you create an account, you can open a personal or team project. Each project brings together voice notes, locations and any context you want to preserve on one map.

  1. Create a project and give it a recognisable name.
  2. Add a voice note from the GeoRec mobile app or upload geolocated files from the web. Then review the associated data and transcription.

Recording and uploading voice notes

You do not need the mobile app to use GeoRec. Use the GeoRec Android app to record directly in the field and upload your audio, or use any geolocated recording and upload it from the web.

Teams and shared projects

Team spaces bring together observations from several people on one map. You can invite collaborators, but only you will control the account.

We recommend creating separate projects for each study, route or period of work so you keep information organised from the start.

Location privacy

Notes and their coordinates belong to the project in which they are created. Your information remains private, and you choose when to share it with people or teams.

Export your data

You can export your data whenever you want and take it wherever you need. Your notes therefore remain useful outside GeoRec too. Export data in JSON and CSV formats from the Account Settings section.

Use of AI

The GeoRec mobile app does not use AI. The online tool uses local AI to transcribe audio.

Your audio never leaves to an external service or gets shared.
